For the first time in forever, Broadway Across Canada’s touring production of Disney’s Frozen is causing a chill over Ottawa’s National Arts Centre. The musical adaptation of the Oscar-winning movie opened February 22 for an extended run until March 3, with additional shows and matinees to ensure kids young and old can visit Frozen’s Arendelle.
The show is a heartwarming story of two sisters learning how to be true to themselves, while discovering the meaning of true love. If you’re familiar with the movie, you know this show will be epic—not just for kids, but for people of all ages.
It has a stellar soundtrack full of musical ear worms and of course that special Disney magic. Stunning onstage performances, fantastic effects and incredible costumes and puppetry bring it all to life in front of your eyes. It’s no wonder that the musical also took home some Tony Award hardware and set box office records.
Attending the show, you will get to hear all your favourite songs from the movie including “Let It Go,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman,” “Love is an Open Door,” as well as a range of new show-stopping additions such as “What Do You Know About Love,” “Hygge,” and “Monster.”
The stage design is jaw-dropping and brings you into the world of Arendelle and Elsa’s ice castle seamlessly with all of its intricate detail.
The gorgeous costuming is impossible not to notice. Elsa’s costume change into her signature ice queen gown will leave you breathless, but every costume you see on stage throughout the show is beautifully made and executed to elevate the story.

Dominic Dorset as Kristoff and Jack Brewer as Hans, bring powerful performances that will leave you with goosebumps. Jeremy Davis as Olaf and Collin Baja and Dan Plehal as Sven, bring countless heartwarming moments, laughs and truly incredible puppetry to the beloved characters.
These stories and themes strongly connect with any audience—whether you’re a musical fan, Disney kid, Disney adult, or just love a good costume change, this production will be everything you wanted and more.
So open up the gates Ottawa, Disney’s Frozen is making audiences shiver until March 3. Grab your tickets for the almost sold out run. Get your chance and don’t “Let It Go” before it freezes over!
