Happy Friday, audiophiles. It’s been awhile, hasn’t it? We’re only now getting around to posting last week’s episode of Apartment613 Live, which is too bad, because it’s a stellar episode. (Of course, they’re all stellar, but this one is more stellar – stellarer? – than the others. Also, “stellar” is a funny word when you write it four times in a row, but that’s sort of off topic.)

Why is it stellar? Because it’s so rare that you get to hear the voices of the people who toil away in our blogging mines, writing our posts, surviving only on week-old cupcakes. In this episode, however, we speak to the writers of our Apologies for Ottawa series –  our collaborative effort with the good folks at OpenFile Ottawa (I know they’re good folks because I’m one of them!) to spread the gospel about how creative and inspiring Ottawans can be when they put their minds to it. We chat with Vera Grbic, who gave us a tour of the city’s literary scene; Jonathan Migneault, who wrote about Ottawa’s neighbourhoods, and Drew Gough, who told us about Ottawa’s open spaces and it’s hordes of devoted runners. Plus we play some pretty excellent music, the playlist for which you can check out below.

Before we go, a public service announcement: with students back for the fall, the Apartment613 Live time slot is a bit up in the air right now. We’ve been airing at CHUO 89.1 FM from 2-3 pm on Thursdays this summer, and it’s honestly been amazing, but the station’s schedule –  plus our own busy lives – means we’re probably going to be coming to you at a different time and date this fall.

Once something’s been hammered out, of course, we’ll let you know.
