One of our favourite Ottawa choirs marks its 30th season this year! Tone Cluster is a choir for queer people and allies. It creates a queer-positive environment while coming together to perform a wide range of materials from classic pieces and commissioned Canadian works across genres.
Starting out in 1994 as a gay madrigal group, Tone Cluster has blossomed into an all-out musical ensemble that contributes to the local arts scene in the Ottawa-Gatineau area.
As part of this season, Tone Cluster presents Letters to Myself for their spring concert. This line-up will answer the question, “What would you tell your younger self?” Described as a poignant, funny and heartfelt discussion between different genres, you can expect a quality and passionate performance that we’ve come to know and love from Tone Cluster.

The concert takes place on Saturday, March 23 at 2 pm. The performance is a collaboration with the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir, an artistic organization for dedicated and musically curious young adults, and Chorale Lyrica, a choral singing program for children and teens in Hull, Quebec, welcoming those ages eight to 18.
“We are so excited to welcome our guest choirs, Chorale Lyrica and the Ottawa Regional Youth Choir. These fantastic youth ensembles are pillars of the Ottawa choral community and we’re looking forward to connecting with them in song!” said Deirdre Kellerman, artistic director of Tone Cluster.
Tickets are on sale now. And keep an eye out for the last concert of the season coming in June with Water is Life.
Letters to Myself takes place on March 23 at Centretown United. The performance takes place at 2 pm. Tickets are pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $25.
