Got plans for Saturday, September 23rd? Join Apt613 in attending a one-night-only live concert at the National Arts Centre (NAC) for Papakanje, a #ReconcileThis concert.

#ReconcileThis is an online initiative celebrating and amplifying Indigenous voices through digital performances, sharing stories, perspectives, cultures, and languages.

This September 23rd event, spanning 90 minutes with an intermission, promises electrifying performances of beats, rhymes, and raw perspectives by Indigenous artists such as Cody Coyote, DJ PØPTRT, and Tamara Podemski.

Cody Coyote, a well-known name in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, brings his Ojibwe & Irish heritage into his award-winning work, fusing profound lyricism with hip-hop, electronic, and pop genres. In 2023, Coyote clinched the title of Ottawa’s Best Hip-Hop Artist at the 2023 Ottawa Awards.

Tamara Podemski, a multi-disciplinary artist of Anishnaabe/Ashkenazi heritage born and raised in Toronto, has been amplifying under-represented and marginalized voices on stage and screen for over 30 years.

Additional artists on the lineup include Crown Lands, visionary artists, advocates and Juno Award winners, and Zoey Roy, whose performances blend art, activism, education and healing.

That’s not all! In a unique setting transcending traditional event boundaries, the on-site NAC restaurant thoughtfully prepares Indigenous cuisine, allowing guests to savour authentic dishes and delve deeper into the traditions of the land. Can’t make it in person? Don’t fret! The show will be available as a free live stream on the NAC website.

We look forward to seeing you there!
