The Ottawa Titans are bringing their second season to a close over the next two weeks, with an extra-long nine-game homestand at the Ottawa Stadium.
With an average attendance of only 1,492 over the last 42 home games, the Ottawa Titans have struggled to gain a strong fanbase in the city, despite a consistent record and creative roster moves that have kept us competitive and agile. This figure puts the team near the very bottom of attendance in the league two years in a row, despite having one of the the largest populations to draw from. The record-setting heat in July combined with the ongoing light rail woes may have contributed to the lack of fans this season, but the baseball has remained electric!
The Titans have managed to maintain a game-winning average close to .500 all season, with standout performances by returning players like AJ Wright, Zac Westcott, Jason Dicochea and Taylor Wright, as well as some excellent talent new to the capital like Sicnarf Loopstok and Evan Berkey.
There’s lots to eat at the ballpark, with Gabriel’s Pizza, Lois ‘N’ Frima’s ice cream, Cappy’s Kitchen and the new Mr. Señor with fresh Mexican offerings. If you don’t want to get caught in line waiting, you can order and pay from your phone using a free app offered at the park. The Titans also have an impressive lineup of local beers including Beau’s, Vimy, and Stray Dog both in tallboy cans at the concessions and on tap in the Hop Yard. You can also find canned cocktails, ciders, and wine for around $8-$9.

We may not be heading into the playoffs this year, but there is lots of good baseball left to enjoy beginning Tuesday Aug. 22 at 6:30pm.
Upcoming promotions
Tuesday, August 22—Hockey Night
Leaning into the popularity of hockey in Ottawa, the Titans are having their first Hockey Night at the ballpark. Eagle-eyed fans might have noticed that the team has been using a hockey helmet to crown home-run hitters as part of home-run celebrations this season. Ottawa-born NHLer Mark Fraser will throw out the first pitch.
Thursday, August 24—AUG-toberfest
Draft beers will be $7 in the Hop Yard, including Beau’s, Stray Dog Brewing, and Vimy Brewing. The Hop Yard is a great place to hang out with the gang or let the smaller kids run around in circles on the grass if they’re getting antsy.
Friday, August 25—Bark in the Park
Bark in the Park has quickly become one of the most popular promotions by Ottawa baseball teams. Bring your dog to the park and enjoy giveaways and entertainment for our best friends. Tickets for dogs are only $5, and they can sit with you anywhere in the stadium. (Please bring your dog and sit near me).
Saturday, August 26—Japan Night
Baseball is huge in Japan, and every year the Ottawa baseball team hosts a wildly successful Japan night celebrating Japanese culture and a shared love of the game. We have two Japanese players on the team this year, OF Kanta Kobayashi and catcher Mitsuki Fukuda, who will no doubt be excited to meet the official Japanese delegation who inevitably attend the game. The Japanese Ambassador and staff always attend, as well as live performers who showcase Japanese song and dance between innings.

Tuesday, August 29—Bingo
Baseball Bingo is always a great way to learn more about the rules of the game, and a chance to win one of three grand prizes—yet to be announced. Every ticket holder gets a Bingo card, so remember to bring a pen and watch closely for your Bingo!
Thursday, August 31—Fan Appreciation Night, fireworks show
The final home game of the season falls on a Thursday night, and the first 500 fans will get a free set of team playing cards. There will be fireworks after the game, and we’re all encouraged to stick around for autographs from the players as well.
Advance tickets for Titans games are $11 or $15 and can be bought online or at the box office. Expect to pay $3 more on game days, regardless of where you buy them. Parking is through Indigo parking, so there are QR codes throughout the lot to pay by phone.
