There’s also a special edition of Fryquency Saturday, with special guests Lido Pimienta coming in from Toronto.

In food, Beyond the Pale brewery takes over the taps at the Hintonburg Public House on Saturday, with eight beers from this local craft brewery on hand for you to try. The Nanny Goat Hill Good Food Market is back, with affordable produce along with fun for the whole community. Out at Petrie Island, you can discover wild food and medicinal plants on a nature walk.

Cube Gallery’s latest show, Black and White, opens with a vernissage on Thursday evening, and there’s a Cartoon Safari at Cafe Nostalgica, featuring your favourite cartoon animals mounted on the wall. The first artists in residence at Blink Gallery are showing their latest work, with the exhibits Coming to Terms and Urban Harvest.

Almonte is taken over by puppets this weekend, with Puppets Up! international puppet festival happening all day Saturday and Sunday, featuring shows and displays all over the town.

This one’s for girls only (no boys allowed!): the Girls Only Skateboard Sessions have returned to McNabb starting Thursday night – check out their Facebook page for full details.

The Festival of India is back all weekend long, with food, music, dancing and workshops. We’re giving away two weekend passes – all you have to do to enter is email apartment613 [at] gmail.com by noon on Friday with ‘Festival of India’ in the subject line. We’ll then do a random draw and notify the winner.

What else is happening around town, Ottawa? Let us know in the comments below.

And remember, if you’re out and about this weekend, don’t forget to take pictures and post them up on Instagram. It’s #Apt613Weekend32 and we want to see what you all are up to!
