Strap in — come along on a multidimensional mission to find out… whose blue hands were on She’s tits!
She, Men, & the Giant F*cking Snake is a solo drag performance that follows She, played by Anthony Palermo, on a travelling adventure to find themselves, their identity and where the hell the Snake is, to find out whose blue handprints got on their chest so that She can keep their dimension-hopping radio.
Palermo performs a dramatic musical experience filled with intensity and comedy which was a blast for everybody involved. While featuring themes of gender identity and sexuality, this show also added a strong dose of humour throughout the night.

The balance between drama and comedy were expertly tackled on stage, and Palermo’s charming crowd work had the audience laughing and singing along. And, if Palermo’s acting chops weren’t enough, their singing was powerful and technically beautiful.
The stage was set with a projection showing the multidimensional station through the performance, alongside some fantastic lighting. This tech made sure the whole experience was very immersive. I loved the goofy station videos that paired with the performance, but it also helped a lot with the scene distinction.
One of the great takeaways from this was that it’s enjoyable for any demographic. I can see everyone enjoying this performance due to the sheer coverage that it gives — with heavy dramatic themes, hints of comedy and a wonderful musical performance. The undercurrents festival is on for just one more day, so be sure to check this performance out.
She, Men, and the Giant F*cking Snake is at undercurrents until Feb. 15. Tickets are pay-what-you-can, ranging from $10 to $50. For more information and to purchase tickets, see the undercurrrents schedule here.
