The Ottawa Little Theatre (OLT) is currently playing And Then There Were None. If you know your Agatha Christie, you will love the alternate ending. If this is all new to you, pack your bags. It’s only a short trip to the island.
I was reluctant. I’m not gonna lie. Romantic Comedy is not my jam. But Now and Then, directed by Brian Cano, made my heart grow three sizes in two hours.
If you’re a fan of established community theatre, from an over-hundred-year-old theatre company, look no further than the Ottawa Little Theatre (OLT) as they begin their 112th season in 2025. Jane Morris, who has been involved with the OLT for over 40 years, says that this year audiences can expect various stories—from fan favourites, to cult classics, to mysteries, and even a few stories to pull on your heartstrings.
Ottawa Little Theatre (OLT) is performing The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time from Aug. 21–Sept. 7.
Simon-Rys Landry, who plays the lead role of Christopher, tells Apt613 all about it.
If you’re like me, and have mixed feelings on the institution of marriage, Grand Horizons is guaranteed to make those feelings more complicated, and may make you swear off tying the knot for good. But don’t let that scare you! The Ottawa Little Theatre’s presentation of the lauded American playwright Bess Wohl’s dark comedy, Grand Horizons, is on until April 20, and you don’t want to miss it.
Now playing at the Ottawa Little Theatre, Yasmina Reza’s God of Carnage is an edgy four-hander driven by black humour, a destructive impulse and some deep philosophical questions. A trip through the wringer never felt so good. Truth be told, I was not all that convinced by the synopsis. God of Carnage’s set up is […]
Like the mouse in the title, Mouse House is a tricky little story that plays with your head and makes you squirm. Now playing at the Ottawa Little Theatre, the psychological thriller written by Peterborough’s Robert Ainsworth may be more shadowy foreboding than white knuckle in style but it’s slippery with plot twists nonetheless with […]
Mr. Bean meets Clue in The Murder Room, a thoroughly silly send-up of the British murder mystery now playing at the Ottawa Little Theatre through to January 30. Any night of theatre asks the audience to bring the believer in them, a readiness to entertain a greater range of possibilities than we do in everyday […]
I’ll be straight with you I tend to be wary of all things Christmas-themed. It’s must be all those movies and holiday albums rife with over-the-top sentimentality and lush superficiality. Luckily, there’s no need to worry about any of that walking into the Ottawa Little Theatre to see A Christmas Story. More than anything this […]
Now playing at the Ottawa Little Theatre, Terrence Rattigan’s Flare Path is a moving drama that pulls you in with an impressively human portrayal of war. Klaas Van Weringh directs this poignant production with heart, humour, and a few surprises. Rattigan’s understated script, inspired by his experiences as an RCAF air gunner sidesteps big battle […]
The Ottawa Little Theatre`s 103rd season is off to a great start with a solidly entertaining production of Noel Coward’s comedy Blithe Spirit. Jim McNabb directs an excellent cast in Coward’s funniest and spookiest play brimming with masterful wordplay, wit and humour. Blithe Spirit sees Charles, a newlywed novelist put on a dinner party and […]
Love, laughs and . . . sex on the radio? The Ottawa Little Theatre’s production of Bedtime Stories delivers all this and more. Written by Norm Foster, one of Canada’s most produced playwrights, Bedtime Stories is a fun comedy with some surprisingly poignant moments that unfold in a series of six vignettes. Though the six […]
In Dangerous Corner, we see that as good as the truth might be, too much can stir up some rather serious trouble. Geoff Gruson directs the Ottawa Little Theatre’s production of the psychological thriller/ mystery written by J.B. Priestley, best known for An Inspector Calls. Dangerous Corner is one of Priestley’s “time plays” where […]
Last year the highly popular movie The Imitation Game introduced the masses to the story of Alan Turing and his work cracking the Nazis’ “unbreakable” Enigma code in WWII. It was estimated that cracking Enigma shortened the war in Europe by two years. But Hollywood demands nonstop edge of your seat excitement and sometimes, especially […]
