National Arts Centre Orchestra

Susan Aglukark appeared to great acclaim in Ottawa accompanied by the NAC Orchestra.

The Calgary-born pianist, who recently accompanied the NAC Orchestra on their Crossings tour earlier this year, is joined by the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra for a performance of pieces by both Jessie Montgomery and Felix Mendelssohn.

The National Arts Centre is holding their annual Gala to support the NAC and the National Youth and Education Trust. This year’s 50th Anniversary Golden Gala will feature a number of guest performances in a showcase of Theatre, Dance, and Music, with special guest Sarah McLachlan.

To celebrate 50 years of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, there is a host of both concert events and free activities set to take place between September 30th and October 5th.

Patrick Watson returns to Ottawa as part of the NAC Presents new Sessions Series for a one-night only collaboration with the NAC Orchestra.

On February 11, Michelle Gott and the Silflay Quartet performed as part of MacKay United Church’s Chamber Concert Series.

Terry Steeves: “Having found a little covered spot to write in the downpour, I realized that some of the best shows I’d ever seen were in the rain… this had definitely been another.”

Alex Binkley: “Trio Grand-Duc is a relative newcomer to [the scene] but if their performance at MacKay United Church is any indication of their potential, the three young musicians have a brilliant future ahead.”
