On Friday night, the National Arts Centre hosted a sold-out performance by Canadian pop-rock icons Marianas Trench. With a reputation for their explosive stage presence and flair, the band did not disappoint, delivering a high-energy concert of songs new and old.
The resurgence in the scene has also provided a platform for new artists influenced by these groundbreakers, taking the genre forward into a new generation. One such artist, Toronto’s L0L0, is opening for Marianas Trench on their tour. We caught up with her and chatted on her influences, her appearance on a new compilation album, and her first Canadian tour.
Ending the night with a 3 song encore, Marianas Trench reminded Ottawa why they are still one of the biggest Canadian pop rock acts.
