Ending this past Sunday, June 29, Jazzfest 2025 proved to be a big hit for fans of the genre. With names like Samara Joy, Gary Clark Jr., Mavis Staples, and many more, there was something for everyone at this year’s festival.

Last night, Metric electrified a sold-out crowd at Ottawa’s The Bronson Music Theatre with a dynamic performance that focused on celebrating their 2009 iconic album Fantasies.

Capital Music Week continued yesterday with a free all-ages concert at the Bronson Centre Music Theatre, showcasing even more local talent with artists Emma Lamontagne, Akeem Oh and headliner Elijah Woods.

The Canadian Tire Centre turned into the club on Monday night as Nelly, Ja Rule, and Chingy brought their “Where the Party At” tour to Ottawa. The capital was the second stop on the nationwide tour so far, which has been a high-energy celebration of Nelly’s 25-year career, with many special guests and moments.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats delivered a wildly entertaining performance at the Canadian Tire Centre on Saturday night, as part of their South of Here Tour. The show featured a mix of their soulful rock and blues-infused tracks, captivating the crowd with their dynamic stage presence.

Long-term success is an elusive goal for most bands, so it is remarkable that Canada’s Our Lady Peace has been at it for 30+ years, selling several million albums along the way. In recognition of that milestone anniversary, Raine and the band have embarked on a cross-Canada tour, bringing along their pals Collective Soul as openers, as well as Canada’s Wintersleep for a few of the Ontario shows.

Canadian alt rock legend Bif Naked dropped in on Orleans last night, with a tour stop at the Shenkman Arts Centre.

Indie rock darlings Dear Rouge brought a high-energy performance to Ottawa’s Bronson Centre Music Theatre on Thursday night, leaving the crowd exhilarated and wanting more. The band’s dynamic stage presence, combined with their infectious blend of indie rock and pop, made for a great night for fans of the band.

Colin James proved why he’s one of the best blues guitarists right now with a perfect show at the NAC.

The 2025 Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival took place this weekend from Jan. 30–Feb. 1. Performances from Yolande Laroche, Don Byron & Michael Occhipinti Quartet with Rich Brown & Jinu Isac, The 33z, Virginia MacDonald Quartet, Julian Selody For the Birds, Ben Wendel Duo with Dan Tepfer, Sarah Neufeld, Richard Reed Parry, Rebecca Foon, and Urban Science Brass Band finished off the festival Saturday night.

The Ottawa Winter Jazz Festival continued on Friday night with performances from Tara Kannangara, Don Byron solo, Hilario, Jocelyn Gould, and Nitroturtle.
