The Smashing Pumpkins’ ‘The World Is a Vampire Tour’ descended upon the Canadian Tire Centre on Sunday night. The show served as a testament to the band’s enduring influence and their ability to connect with audiences across generations. Billy Corgan’s haunting vocals, backed by a tight ensemble, transported the audience into the heart of the ’90s alternative rock scene. The setlist seamlessly blended classics like “Cherub Rock” and “Bullet with Butterfly Wings” with newer hits from their catalog, creating a dynamic and nostalgic atmosphere that left fans both old and new satisfied.

As the final notes of “Zero” echoed through the Canadian Tire Centre, it was clear that the Smashing Pumpkins had left a memorable mark on Ottawa, reminding us all that in the world of rock, some vampires never age.

Interpol was the second of the three bands on the night, skillfully merging their signature moody post-punk sound with a palpable stage presence. Rival Sons kicked off the night with a raw, blues-infused set to energize the crowd.
