Moneen’s 20th-anniversary performance of Are We Really Happy With Who We Are Right Now? at the Bronson Centre Music Theatre was a journey through two decades of emotional resonance. The band’s raw energy and tight musicianship effortlessly brought fans back to the album’s initial release, evoking past memories and renewed appreciation. Vocalist Kenny Bridges’ delivery coupled with the band’s relentless instrumentals made for big choruses followed by pockets of mosh-worthy intensity. Moneen’s blend of emo and post-hardcore was poignant, reaffirming the album’s sound and influence.

It wasn’t the only anniversary on the night, as Sparta’s 20th-anniversary performance of Wiretap Scars was a showcase of the Texas’ band longevity. Cam Kahin opened the night, with an explosive set that had early concertgoers impressed, and a signal that the new generation is alive and well.
