A night of dancing ensued on day four of CityFolk, headlined by Milky Chance. The German pop-folk band were at their best, as the leading electric beats mixed with catchy hooks had most of the crowd off their feet.
Montreal’s Half Moon Run were back at CityFolk, after a downpour show in 2021 that was one of the most fun sets of the festival in recent memory. The group pulled out all the stops, from their string quartet to drum battles on stage. Jamie Fine’s set kicked things off with an enthusiastic early crowd hanging on her every word.
At the tent stage, Saskatoon’s Katie Tupper showcased her range and a tight backing band. Smiling from ear to ear, John Muirhead and his band brought energy with their folk-rock blend. Alanna Sterling’s vocals soared, as the voice and piano were more than enough to carry the performance.
