Ottawa country fans were in for a treat last night as Chayce Beckham brought his Bad for Me Tour to the Bronson Centre.

The show was opened by Irish country singer-songwriter Gareth. Gareth joked that he would speak slowly between songs to help everyone understand what he was saying through his strong Irish accent. He played a strong set of originals as well as a well-received cover of Noah Kahan’s “Stick Season.”

When Chayce Beckham and his band hit the stage, the American Idol winner instantly had the crowd’s attention. Beckham’s setlist was a perfect blend of his hit singles such as “23,” songs from his newest album Bad For Me, and a few well-placed covers by some of his influences such as George Strait and Alan Jackson. His powerful vocals filled the venue, and his energy was contagious, igniting the crowd and creating an unforgettable concert experience for Ottawa country fans, decked out in cowboy hats, denim and hoisting beers in the air.

What stood out about Beckham was his authenticity. He poured his heart and soul into every song, with a sincerity and grit that are so central to country music’s DNA.

The sparse stage setup, with moody string lights, made it feel like a backyard country party. He delivered a performance that was both captivating and heartfelt. While relatively new to the country music scene, it’s clear that Beckham is a rising star for a reason.

Chayce Beckham’s Bad For Me Tour continues across eastern Canada, with dates in Montreal, Moncton and Halifax.
