This summer, what a better way to take a little stay-cation, than to explore the quaint town of Prescott — an hour away from Ottawa, and home to the St. Lawrence Shakespeare Festival, which boats Canadian theatre talent from across the country. This year’s festival includes Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and a play for fans of mystery, Sherlock Holmes and the Vanishing Hour. Both productions will run from July 18-Aug. 9
As you walk into the corner exhibition space on the Mezzanine level of the National Gallery of Canada, you are met with the words “THINGS WHICH ARE PER SE CONTINUOUS,” painted in bright blue above the corridor. It is these words, penned by late artist Lawrence Weiner, that echo throughout the newest exhibit at the gallery.

A new live concert venue was finally added to the Ottawa music scene with the grand opening of Hard Rock Live, part of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino that has transformed the old Rideau Carleton Raceway.
