Get ready, theatre fans – Broadway Across Canada (BAC) has announced their 2025/2026 season and there is a lot to be excited and laugh about! We’re not sure if they knew the state of the world when they came up with this list, but they’ve lined up a stellar group of shows based on movies and music you know and love, and a lot of them with some big laughs. Sounds like just what we need.

Before we jump in, don’t forget you can still grab tickets to the last two shows of the current season Beetlejuice from May 27 – June 1 and Hamilton from August 5 – August 17.

Mrs. Doubtfire (November 4 – 9, 2025)

You know and love this movie and will find all the same heart and laughter in the musical! Garnering six Tony nominations when it was on Broadway, this Scottish nanny charmed audiences. Following the story of a family after a messy divorce, Daniel is determined to stay in his kids’ lives and his alter ego, Mrs. Doubtfire, comes to be. Chaos ensues and will bring you on quite the ride.

Clue (January 6 – 11, 2026)

Based on the popular board game and somewhat cult classic 1985 film, this production is bound to bring us an entertaining night. All your favourite characters, rooms and objects are in play as audiences get to explore this whodunit tale. Though it may all seem familiar, don’t get too comfortable because this one will keep you guessing until the very end!

& Juliet (March 24 – 29, 2026)

You may already be well-versed in the story of Romeo & Juliet, but what would happen if the ending changed? Instead of Juliet’s story coming to a close, what if it was just the beginning? Rather than ending it all over Romeo, Juliet goes on a journey of self-discovery set to your favourite pop songs of the last few decades. Grab your quill and get ready to rewrite this love story for a whole new century!

Moulin Rouge! The Musical (May 12 – 17, 2026)

Celebrate freedom, beauty, truth and love as this record-breaking 10-time Tony award-winning show comes to Ottawa stages. Based on the Baz Luhrmann movie, Moulin Rouge! follows the story of a writer, Christian, and his accidental encounter with Satine. A case of mistaken identity leads to a grand love story, set to a mash-up of music hits and filled with visual grandeur. Get ready to be enchanted!

Mamma Mia! (July 28 – August 2, 2026)

Mamma Mia! makes its way back to Ottawa, and while it’s been a while since we last saw this fan-favourite on the docket, and it is always a blast. Set to your favourite ABBA songs, Mamma Mia! is a mother/daughter love story as Sophie prepares for her wedding day, hoping to find one very special guest. It’s a feel good show sure to fill audiences with delight.

We can’t wait to see what this new season has in store. Dip your toe into the BAC 2025/2026 season by listening to our season playlist!
