After a year off the podium, Apartment613 is thrilled to announce that we’ve won GOLD for Best Community News Site at the 2023 Canadian Online Publishing Awards (COPA)! This is Apt613’s sixth win in 10 years, and we could not be prouder to share this award with all of our incredible contributors and staff members who give their time, skills, and inspiration to help us uncover and highlight all the amazing culture, art, music, film, theatre, writing, food and more that Ottawa-Gatineau has to offer.

It’s been a tough few years for everyone, but particularly for artists and creators. And yet, so many of you are still here, putting your hands up and asking us: How can I contribute? How can I share this thing I love and care about with others who might love it too? With every post, you are helping people learn that our city is a fun, interesting, and vibrant place—if you know where to look. We are so happy you’re all here, and we are thankful for all that you share with us. Now that things are opening up again, we’re enjoying catching up with everyone and seeing what creative endeavours the pandemic and its challenges have brought to life. We’re also hoping to restart our famous contributor open house this year, so stay tuned to the blog and our social media!
