Win tickets to Winter Brewfest at Lansdowne

By Amanda Armstrong on February 10, 2016

This weekend marks the culmination of Winterlude and, to celebrate, the 2nd annual Winter Brewfest, this Friday and Saturday in the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne.

35 breweries from across Ontario and Quebec will have their best kegs tapped for this event. The breweries include old favourites, like Beau’s, Muskoka, and Beyond the Pale, new kids on the block Tooth & Nail, Waller St. Brewing, and Cartwright Springs, as well as our friends from across the river, Unibroue and Brasseurs du Monde. In addition to the best beers from the best breweries, there will also be a selection of wines, ciders, and spirits for folks to enjoy.

LOCAL Lansdowne is on the ball and will be bringing some tasty treats for y’all. They will be serving up chili dogs, made with local pork sausages from “That Butcher Shop”; poutine, with St. Albert cheese curds (I’d hesitate to call it made with anything else “poutine”); and al pastor pulled chicken tacos, with citrus mango salsa.

You can trade your tokens for whatever your taste buds desire. Beer samples range from 2 to 6 tokens and food from 6 to 8. Tokens are sold by the decad.

What kind of party would it be, without beats? Djs Illo and Kid SL will be on the decks, playing for those enjoying the massive bonfire and maple taffy, just outside the building.

For those who want to take a bit of Brewfest home (in addition to their nifty mason jar tasting glass), while supporting a great cause, there will be a ‘dream keg’ up for auction at each session. Each ‘dream keg’ has been donated by a local brewery and 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the keg will help to support the CHEO Foundation.

While we want you all to enjoy yourselves, we also want you to enjoy yourselves responsibly – so remember, don’t drink and drive. OC Transpo can help you out – they’ll be providing free transportation to and from the festivities. Just show the driver your Brewfest ticket.

All earlybird and presale tickets to this popular event are sold out, and there are only a limited number of tickets available at the door. So, if you don’t already have your tickets, be sure to get there early, as door tickets go like hotcakes! Or, try your luck at winning your way into this stellar event through us folks at Apt613. We’ve got 2 sets of tickets to give away!

We’re giving away two pairs of tickets to Session 1 of Brewfest (Friday, February 12th, 2:00 pm). To enter, just send an email to apartment613@gmail.com with the subject line “Dream Keg”. The winner will be selected at noon on Thursday, February 11th.
