The grills will be hot this weekend as Capital Ribfest takes over the Festival Plaza at Ottawa City Hall all weekend long. In addition to some delicious ribs, there will be live music, a beer tent, and a rock climbing wall. Bring the whole family for dinner, canine members included, and make a night of it.
For those of you who enjoy theatre, why not theatre with a twist? Head to Strathcona Park for Theatre Under the Stars, each night at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm. Odyssey Theatre presents Lysistrata and the Temple of Gaia. Set in the future world, humanity finds itself under threat of destruction by Goddess Gaia, should they not take better care of the planet. What ensues is a hilarious battle of the sexes.
The Ottawa International Buskerfest returns to Sparks Street this Thursday and runs all weekend long. Take a stroll along the cobblestone and witness amazing feats of acrobatics, magic, contortionism, and all sorts of other kooky talents.
The Museum of Nature is hosting a free talk about the state of plastics pollution in our oceans this Thursday. Join Dr. Julia Schnetzer, Dr. Peter Ross, and Dr. Jennifer Provencher at the talk, being held in conjunction with the museum’s outdoor exhibit, Ocean Plastics Lab, on display until August 12th.

Amongst the flea market vendors are some amazing local artisans, with all sorts of jewelry, beauty products, and other handmade wares for your perusal.
The Amazing Thailand Festival is back for its second year in the Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park. Experience Thai culture and enjoy some delicious Thai food, Thai massage, and live performances all day long. While at Lansdowne, why not take a stroll through the Ottawa Farmers’ Market? With summer in full swing, there is a wealth of great local produce to stock up on.
