By Hannah Manning on December 21, 2017

Happy holidays Ottawa! Hopefully you have all your Christmas shopping done and can relax this weekend with family and friends. If you’re looking to get out of the house, why not try a trip to the museum or the theatre? Read on for more of what’s going on this weekend.

All weekend

A Christmas Carol is playing at The Gladstone Theatre and Apt613 reviewer Brian Carroll only had great things to say in his review.

The Museum of Nature is free on Thursday and for an extra $5, you can get into the new Butterflies in Flight exhibition. Buy your ticket online ahead of time to reserve your spot!

Crystal Shawanda performs tonight at the National Arts Centre. A Juno-winning singer/songwriter, her Christmas concert will show off her soulful, rootsy sound that has bridged the country and blues worlds.

Photographer (and Apt613 contributor) Amanda Armstrong’s first photography show is on display at Shanghai Restaurant in Chinatown through January 11. The vernissage is Friday night at 8pm. For a peek at Amanda’s photos, follow her on Instagram

Celebrate the return of the light at S O L S T I C E : with Ora Cogan & Cedric Noel. Shows starts at 8pm at General Assembly.

Up for a Kitchen Party? Pressed is hosting a winter / holiday warm-up w/ special guest DJ Jas Nasty along with DJs Hobo & Sweet Cheeks.

Help celebrate the 3 year anniversary of Bangarang with the Christmas Edition Saturday night at Happy Goat Coffee.

Have you been to Parliament to see the holiday light show, or take a spin on the Canada 150 Rink? The light show runs every evening (check Twitter for updates due to weather!) and reserve your time on the ice online.
