Weekend Roundup: Quoi faire?

By Amanda Armstrong on February 25, 2021

This weekend marks the end of the year’s shortest month, which has managed to feel like the longest. We’ve almost come full circle, as we approach a full year in this weird pandemic world. With restrictions eased, there are in-person events on the docket this weekend, complemented by a variety of online events if you aren’t yet ready to get back out there. Without further ado, here’s the lowdown on what’s up this weekend in Ottawa.

With restrictions lifted, museums around town are now able to welcome guests back. The Museum of Nature has resumed offering free entry to their exhibits every Thursday night. Nature after 5 begins an hour early at the Museum, with free entry from 4pm to 7pm. Tickets must be reserved ahead of time, so be sure to book your time slot early to avoid missing out.

If you’re keen to see more animals, you can also book a private tour of Little Ray’s Nature Centre and hang out with sloths, foxes, parrots, owls, and all sorts of furry and feathered friends. If you’d like to meet the animals virtually, they also offer Zoo-Zoom shows. Tours and virtual shows can be booked on their website

Join the conversation about “the hard realities we need to talk about in the Ottawa arts industries” with IMB 39 Unmuting Arts Communities this Thursday evening. The 39th instalment of the IMB series features panelists Amy Ede, Maya McDonald, Kevin Bourne, and moderator Yamikani Msosa. Register for this free event here.
