Video of the Week: “You Lied” by DeeDee7

By Greggory Clark on August 19, 2020

Seven-piece Ottawa band DeeDee7 sent their debut EP out into the world this summer. Fronted by vocalist DeeDee Butters (The PepTides) and co-written with bassist-producer Andrew Burns (her PepTides bandmate and partner in life), their new work is heavily inspired by ’70s disco and pop singles, so it comes as no surprise the DeeDee7 EP is available on 10″ vinyl as well. Deejays will love this.

“You Lied” is track 1 off the EP, which got this rad video treatment from Ottawa-based director Christopher Mullington. To capture the band’s old-school disco vibe, Mullington shot with vintage Soviet Lomo prime lenses. Oh, and legit everything which could be bedazzled is bedazzled.
