Longtime Ottawa band Zoo Legacy is back! Zoo’s new single and music video for “Lost on Purpose” is shot all around Ottawa, like Vanier’s Jasmin Market convenience store, Britannia Beach, and views of Vieux-Hull. See how many sights you can spot from rue Montcalm to Major’s Hill Park.
Directed by local filmmaker Andrew Robillard (who also directed “Les Marins” by Moonfruits), the hip hop music video follows a school-aged kid (played by Sebastian Weberpals Goss) who takes off for the day to escape boredom and neglectful parents.
It’s a super catchy tune—probably Ottawa’s best summer jam—recommended for fans of J. Cole and The Weeknd. Also, you get to see Zoo Legacy frontman Nic Pouponneau rocking one of the new BIRD scooters that seemingly appeared in Ottawa overnight.
Let’s hope it’s not another five years before Zoo Legacy’s next release. We’re hoping “Lost on Purpose” is a sign of more to come.
