Creativity is a fickle thing that few ever manage to harness fully and produce whatever it is they have in their minds to their satisfaction. It would therefore arguably seem twice as difficult to create two complimentary versions of a single work. Yet Pony Girl have succeeded at doing just that.
The video for “Golden Children” (from the album Show Me Your Fears) reflects the musical changes as the song progresses: soft abstract lights to match the song’s initial ethereal feel, followed by creepy shots of a mouth singing that complement the singer’s eerie pitch. This harmony between two mediums is a natural expression for Pony Girl, who claim (and are oh so right about it) that “when artists get together to write music based on imaginary films, you know you’re getting real alt-rock”.
