“That initial brainstorm, 3 years ago, was the most brilliant I idea I had in 4-5 years: helping people get local craft beer to their house.
Étienne Brûlé Brewery combines history and science in an awesome way.
That’s right, the speakeasy-themed brewery is turning one. The basement brewery is taking over their upstairs neighbour, Level One.
The 14th Annual Canadian Brewing Awards and Conference was held May 26-28 in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. Though I consider myself more of a sophisticated drinker than a sophisticated dresser; the Ottawa Wine and Food Show has always been an annual excuse to see if my vest still fits, make vest puns and to test my “How to Tie a Tie” bookmark. The event has now expanded to offer a springtime event: Eat, Drink, […]
It was a hole in the wall with the worst selection in the city, and when they closed it no one complained, which may just be a first for a store of its type. I speak, of course, of the old Rideau Centre LCBO, the late and completely unlamented bottle shop that may have saved […]
To the surprise of no one, the Beau’s Brewery St. Patrick’s Day event at the Aberdeen Pavilion was a roaring success that left those on the outside green (!) with envy. In honour of this momentous occasion, “Dominion Day” was celebrated every year until 1982, when PM Ben Mulroney Sr. changed the name to “Canada Day”. Dominion […]
