This weekend is promising a mixed bag of weather, but it also holds a wide variety of activities in and around the city. Movies and music and beer are readily available this weekend, but you don’t have to look very hard for other cool things to tickle your fancy as we all try to jam as much awesomeness as we can into our remaining summer days (and nights).
After the hullabaloo and heatstroke of the long weekend has passed, we are faced with another beautiful weekend in our city, and no limit of ways to fill it. Bluesfest starts with a bang on Thursday night and rolls right on through the weekend. If Lebreton Flats is not your destination of choice, mix it up a little bit with a poutine in Gatineau, a soccer game, some classical music or a Shakespeare play for a little culture.
This weekend isn’t only about the giant monsters of La Machine, although we are pretty excited to check them out. With lots happening in the city and on the outskirts (we’re looking at you, MayoFest!), grab your friends and have a blast.
A Company of Fools is bringing A Midsummer Night’s Dream to a city park near you. That’s not an exaggeration—with shows ranging from Navan to Stittsville to Manotick to Wakefield, everyone in the greater Ottawa area has a chance to see it.
The week was short, but there is no shortage of things to keep you occupied in and around town. Happy summer weekending!
