Part 17 of our local gift guide is all about holiday cheers.

Finding the best gift for the craft beer lover in your life is easy, especially if you live in Ottawa. Our city is home to dozens of breweries! So besides proposing a limited edition bottle or a 6-pack of beers for your friends to enjoy, we’ve kept an eye out for seasonal deals and holiday gift ideas that are on sale in December. The beer snob in your life should love these gifts.

Leave a comment if we’ve missed anything!

Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co.

Beau’s is rocking a Holiday Gift Pack which comes with a limited edition tuque and three tallboys for $19.95. For the same price, Beau’s Winter Mix Pack comes with six tallboys (but no tuque) including the new Lug Tread 2.5% brew if you want to try that on for size. Lastly, Beau’s and David’s Tea collaborated on a Gift Pack which includes two London Fog brews, a Beau’s pint glass, a metal tea infuser, and 50g of organic Cream of Earl Grey tea.

Beyond The Pale

BTP has a whack of holiday gift ideas for you to check out. Their Holiday Mix Pack is a variety of 24 tall cans and a pint glass for $68.62 (basically 15% off the regular price). If you’ve been to the brewery before, you know that BTP and BBQ go hand in hand, so the BBQ Lovers Holiday Bundle is a sweet gift at $109 which includes a Smoquehouse rib pack, a can of BTP x Smoquehouse sauce, four tall cans, two glasses, a BTP sew-on patch, and a $25 gift card, all inside a wooden crate that’s yours to keep.

Big Rig Brewery

Big Rig’s Holiday Mix Pack is a pretty generous offer with four 473ml cans of Busted Sled Gingerbread Stout plus two cans each of their Porter, Scotch Ale, IPA, Amber, Pilsner, and Radler brews. Then they’re throwing in two root beer sodas, two Big Rig glasses, and a fresh gingerbread cookie! $10 from every order ($65 total) will go to the Kanata Food Cupboard.

Dominion City Brewing Co.

DCBC is offering Holiday Gift Boxes at $50, $85 and $150 with free local delivery. Each comes with a set of glasses and lots of great beer. Their $200 Christmas Bundle is a showstopper collab with regional farms and food producers which includes a Christmas Eve tourtière from Meat Press (with beer pairings by DCBC) and Christmas morning goodies from Black Walnut Bakery, Top Shelf Preserves, Culture Kombucha, City Seltzer, and La Frommagerie Moutonnière. The price includes a $25 donation to the Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard.

Kichesippi Beer Co.

K-Beer’s Cheers to the Season 10 Pack includes 10 different beers (including four new brews!) for $49.95, all individually wrapped for you to distribute as gifts. The brand new brews include an imperial pilsner, a German dark lager, a sweet chocolate raspberry stout, and the new Wuchak Winter IPA. Every order comes with a Kichesippi tuque and beer glass.

For less beer and more cheer, the Fireside Gift Pack ($34.95) comes with a 500ml bottle of the limited edition Ice Harvest Eisbock, two laser etched glasses, one colouring book, and a deck of Kichesippi playing cards.

Nita Beer Company

Nita’s Happy Holidaze Craft Beer Mix Pack gets you 10 tall cans, two glasses, and engraved coasters for $50 flat. If you’re gifting this to an individual, we’d say this should go to the most adventurous craft beer fan in your life, as Nita’s brewmaster has selected a wide variety of styles from ales to IPAs, sours, and stouts. If you’re putting this under the tree for family to enjoy, there’s sure to be something for everyone, or perhaps a fun experience if you want to pour tasters into small glasses for all.

Orléans Brewing Co.

OBC is doing custom beer crates for the holidays. The handmade, solid wood crate holds six cans or bottles and can be finished with a bottle opener on the side. The crate costs $36 plus whichever beers you choose to fill it with.

Apt613’s favourites from the east-end brewery are the Kveik IPA, Kölsch Me Ousside, and Juicy McHazy NEIPA.

Whiprsnapr Brewing Co.

Whiprsnapr’s holiday project is their special edition Nog Hog, a white eggnog stout that’s perfect for the season. Tall cans cost only $3.10, which is relatively inexpensive for 473ml can let alone a special edition brew. Expect this one to sell out!
