#Support613 Gift Guide: For Beer Lovers

By Jordan Duff on December 1, 2021

Welcome to Part 2 of Apartment613’s 2021 local holiday gift guide! Visit often for new suggestions.

Ottawa is home to so many amazing breweries; it’s hard to miss when buying for the craft beer lover in your life. But since you’ve already landed on this page, let us help you spread holiday cheers in the capital with this gift guide for beer lovers.

Stalwart Brewing Co.

For those who love shower beers, Stalwart teamed up with Kerron Lamb of Maximal Living to create custom beer soaps that are made with their different brews. Now you can smell like your favourite beer! For those who don’t use soap, the brewery also has their regular lineup available in their online store, including their seasonally appropriate Thiller Chocolate Porter.

Dominion City Brewing Co.

DCBC is making it easy by creating three special gift boxes this year at $50, $85, and $150 values. They are also teasing a big stout coming soon as a winter warmer. For the gift that keeps giving, consider the DCBC beer subscription to get every beer release from the month delivered straight to their door. Finally, for the literate beer nerd in your life, the Winter Book Club features a curated selection of Canadian books paired with a six-pack of beer every month for three months.

Beau’s All Natural Brewing Co.

Did you know Beau’s hometown of Vankleek Hill is the “Gingerbread Capital of Ontario”? Did you also know this refers not to the holiday cookie, but rather to the decorative trim on the rooflines of Victorian homes? Yet still, what better pairing for a gingerbread cookie than Beau’s new Porter Porter. This beer was brewed with Porter Airlines so that you too can enjoy a pint at 30,000 feet — just like Santa… Beau’s online store also offers many accessories that would make perfect stocking stuffers, including a Beau’s stocking to stuff.

Stray Dog Brewing

Stray Dog has released a 10% imperial stout brewed with a blizzard of Pirate and Nutter Butter cookies and some Reese’s cereal called Pirate’s Booty as a stocking-stuffer-sized 355ml winter warmer. For under the tree, the Winter Beer Bundle is available on their online store, which includes eight flagship beers, two glasses, and a coupon for a free sample flight. It’s a $60 value for $50. For the non-alcoholic winter warmers, they also note that new toques and zip-front hoodies are coming in soon as well.

Kichesippi Beer Co.

Kichesippi is taking the fun-stration out of wrapping your holiday list with their Cheers to the Season Pack. It contains 10 beers all individually wrapped as gifts, one jar of Kichesippi Honey, a collaboration with Gees Bees Honey Company, and a Kichesippi toque. It’s all wrapped up in one gift box for $54.95. If you’d like to build your gift box, their online store has a wide selection of beer, wine, soda, and merch.

Whiprsnapr Brewing Co.

Bells Corners’ Whiprsnapr Brewing has lots going on for the holidays. You can count down the days until Christmas with their second annual Unfiltrd Beermas Advent Calendar that features 12 new Christmas-inspired beers with themed labels. The cans are pre-wrapped and come with a tree decoration, plus a Christmas card! Aside from the calendar, they have a few seasonal brews, including the re-release of Nog Hog white stout, plus new releases of a Ferrero Rocher-styled nut brown and a cranberry NEIPA.

Brew Donkey

The Brew Donkey bus is back on the roads! For those home for the holidays or who have made a resolution to explore more breweries, allow us to suggest tour passes or gift cards. Private tours are also available for those holiday or team-building parties. This includes the Sip Axe and Relax tour, where you can throw back pints and axes. Great for those enthusiasts who insist on chopping down their own Christmas tree.
