“Delivery” by Slack Bridges // It’s album time! The new Slack Bridges record, Lindenlea to Ledbury, is out today. Over one year in the making, this is some of Slack’s tightest work. When you consider how many musicians were involved—14 names in the liner notes—that’s no small feat for a big Ottawa band. The soul group has been kicking it since about 2015 and are known for their live shows… We hope it’s not too long before we can celebrate Lindenlea to Ledbury on the dancefloor.

“Justice for Peace” by Wise Atangana // The Ottawa-based Cameroonian poet, rapper and storyteller Wise Atangana dropped his new album on Friday. The full-length Justice for Peace #BlackLivesMatter record serves as a fundraiser to build an Afro-Black Cultural Centre in downtown Ottawa. You can learn more about the project and donate here via GoFundMe. The Afro-Black Cultural Centre, to be opened in 2021, will feature a professional audio-video production studio and a collaborative workspace where the next generation of young Black Ottawans will strengthen their cultural identity and develop creative, artistic and entrepreneurial skills.

“Take Cover” by Drae // “Take Cover” is the lead single off of the Ottawa duo’s forthcoming TARDIGRADE EP, set for release before the end of the year on Dance Plant Records. The alt-hip hop and electronic music producers have taken a page out of the blues rock bible with big drums and heavy guitar riffs on this politically-charged track. Recommended if you like The Black Keys and Rage Against the Machine.
