“Heartbreak” by Cody Coyote // Cody Coyote’s new track is a slow jam with an r&b guitar line and trap drumbeat. Soaring above the instrumentation is Coyote’s rap, which brings the energy way high despite the downtempo feel. [Soundcloud]

“Whirlpool” by Mad Gamma // Ottawa rock band Mad Gamma released their second single from an upcoming EP release. Originally a poem written by singer/keyboardist Emma Bulchak-Healy, “Whirlpool” was transformed into a “sombre yet hopeful rock ballad” with the artistic input of bandmates Sam Fisher and Matt Atchison, and their friend Holly Long. Mad Gamma’s first track, “Different Sides” was featured in #ottmusic weekly earlier this year. Just scroll down the Spotify playlist to find it! [Website]

“City Sunlight” by Silent Era Cinema feat. Trice // Last weekend, Ottawa songwriter Silent Era Cinema aka Kris Ward released his fourth EP in three years. While most of his Silent Era Cinema music is instrumental, this track features a vocalist by the name of Trice whose soft voice and high range adds a special element to the looping synths of “City Sunlight”. He’s currently writing music for a full-length release. [Bandcamp]
