This weekend’s Ottawa Improv Festival may have sold out, but there are shows happening week in and week out at venues around town.
Did you know there’s a dedicated improv comedy venue in town? The Improv Embassy opening its doors in September 2016 is just one sign of Ottawa’s robust scene. DYK about the Ottawa Improv Festival, which in its third year is getting used to selling out the 140-seat Arts Court Theatre? Or how about Ottawa’s beloved Crush Improv, who celebrated their 10th anniversary (!) with a big big show at The Gladstone this winter…
Now, just because you didn’t get a ticket to this weekend’s sold-out Improvfest doesn’t mean you’ll have to wait a year to see a funny af improv show in Ottawa. See below for a list of improv troupes, shows, venues and festivals. Leave a comment if there’s something missing and we’ll add it soon.

In an Ottawa Minute we’ll explore corners of the city you may have never visited and niche scenes from indie wrestling to fringe theatre, burlesque, the escape room boom, new breweries and offbeat events. So, not “niche” in the sense that niche tastes will be required… but this is probably the kinda stuff you’d have to hear about from a friend. Subscribe to Apt613 on YouTube for new episodes.
