It’s National Poetry Month and Ottawa Public Library is inviting folks to dive into the fascinating world of poetry.

Throughout the month of April, OPL will be offering a variety of activities and resources to help the Ottawa community “awaken their inner poet…” while staying at home.

Of note, OPL librarians have put together a list of more than 500 titles that you can read or listen to online, including eBooks, video performances, and downloadable audiobooks.

Also, to keep people active, OPL is running a weekly challenge, inviting everyone to write a poem using a different poetic form every week. This week is Spine Poetry, and towards the end of the month, OPL is planning to organize an online poetry slam event.

These activities are open to everyone, no matter their age or experience level with poetry. Who knows? Maybe OPL will help uncover a hidden local talent.
