Mealshare adds 20+ new restaurants

By Hannah Manning on July 3, 2018

Mealshare has added 20+ new resturants to its list of partner restaurants, making it easier than ever to help end youth hunger in Ottawa.

To date, more than 35 participating restaurants across the National Capital Region have helped provide over 100,000 meals served through local charities like Operation Come Home, Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa and internationally through Save the Children Canada. By nearly doubling the number of Ottawa restaurant partners this June, Mealshare was able to adopt the Parkdale Food Centre as a third charity partner.

At a release party held at the Heart & Crown in the ByWard Market, representatives from two of the three charities who benefit from Mealshare spoke about the impact the program has. The Parkdale Food Market and Operation Come Home both spoke about the positive difference partnering with Mealshare has made by providing meals to those who use their services.

Heart & Crown’s three Ottawa locations, as well as their sister pub the Aulde Dubliner, have joined the Mealshare program with their fish and chips as their menu item. Each year, they serve over 40,000 fish and chips meals so it’s easy to see how huge of an impact the program has on helping provide meals to youth in need.
