On Friday and Saturday, September 14–15, CityFolk is putting more than 60 shows into Bank Street venues for a free pop-up concert series. While the main stage in Lansdowne Park will host CityFolk’s biggest names, like Andy Shauf and David Byrne, the festival’s Marvest series is presenting local acts on virtually every block from Clocktower Brew Pub to Craft Beer Market.
There’s afternoon programming to hit on your way to Lansdowne Park, plus late-night sets for the way home.
Notable acts, whose names appear elsewhere on apt613.ca, include psychedelic rockers Casa Lagarto, opera tenor turned country singer Justin Ralph, Crystalena (of Blakdenim), the multi-talented David daCosta, alt-rock band Mosely, alt-country group No Fly List, reggae funk stars Nile Groove, bluesgrass trio Old Man Grant, Wakefield’s Rebelle, Boy Cash (aka Steve St. Pierre), roots rock band Still Winter Hills, as well as indie folk quartet Winchester Warm.
A total of 65 bands and 24 venues are participating in Marvest this year. Visit cityfolkfestival.com/marvest for the complete lineup and schedule.
