Live Stream: FemmeVox III songwriter showcase at Irene’s Pub—09.06.20

By Greggory Clark on September 3, 2020

Live stream on Facebook and YouTube: Sunday, September 6 at 4pm

This edition of FemmeVox features Amanda Rheaume, Nambi, Larissa Desrosiers, and Ambre McLean, who will be performing solo as well as lending accompaniment to one another. A live stream will be broadcast on GCTC’s Facebook page and on YouTube.

The songwriters’ circle and showcase will be recorded live at Irene’s Pub on September 6 at 4pm. As is FemmeVox tradition, two brand new songs will be performed; co-written by the performers.

This stream will be a free event, but viewers are encouraged to donate to Ottawa’s Minwaashin Lodge, which provides a range of programs and services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and children who are survivors of domestic and other forms of violence, and who may also be suffering the effects of the residential school system.

Great Canadian Theatre Company, CKCU-FM, and CHUO-FM jointly program the FemmeVox showcase. The local concert series promotes established and emerging talent, and fosters mentorship opportunities among its artists.

FemmeVox launched in February 2019 and quickly gained a committed following. The series has featured such artists as Lynne Hanson, Tara Holloway, Kelly Prescott, Crystalena, Susan O, Sam Steel, and Malayka (formerly known as Malak Sound).

FemmeVox III will be streamed live on September 6, 2020 at 4pm EDT. RSVP on Facebook. Subscribe to @gctclive on YouTube. Follow @gctclive on Instagram.
