Good news, music lovers! Some new live stream concerts are coming our way very soon. Ottawa Jazzfest is recording and broadcasting these shows from Arts Court Theatre. Their newsletter announcement says a small, in-person audience will be welcome to the show if Stage 2 COVID-19 restrictions are lifted by mid-November. Otherwise, the shows will go on as closed-set recordings.
The lineup includes JUNO Award-winning duo Whitehorse, Toronto’s guerilla-punk-Balkan-folk-brass band Lemon Bucket Orkestra, Cuban-Canadian powerhouse Miguel de Armas Quartet, and the Ottawa/Toronto combo of Roddy Ellias (guitar), John Geggie (bass), Michel Delage (drums), Kevin Turcotte (trumpet), and Tara Davidson (alto sax).
Live stream tickets cost $10 and the pre-recorded Miguel de Armas Quartet show will be presented for free as Ottawa’s contribution to the inaugural Canadian Online Jazz Festival, produced in partnership with jazz festivals from coast to coast.
