Jazzfest announces 40 more concerts for the 40th anniversary—06.19.20 to 07.01.20

By Greggory Clark on March 12, 2020

Mavis Staples, BadBadNotGood, BLAKDENIM, Elisapie, and Portico Quartet are among the 40 new concerts announced for June 19 to July 1.

As is customary, Ottawa Jazz Festival programming manager Petr Cancura went on CBC Radio’s All in a Day to share the annual lineup with host Alan Neal today, revealing several headliners and new acts for the summer music fest.

Announcements already made before Christmas included Nile Rodgers & Chic, Femi Kuti, Bill Frisell, Shabaka & The Ancestors, Ghost-Note, and Hiromi.

It’s expected Jazzfest will make further announcements; adding local #yowjazz content to the lineup which already features Ottawa acts BLAKDENIM, Peter Hum’s Ordinary Heroes, JW-Jones Big Band, and Petr Cancura.

2020 marks 40 years for the Ottawa Jazz Festival, which returns to Confederation Park as well as the National Arts Centre, Queen St. Fare, and Mercury Lounge this year.
