Hidden Gems: Sir Winston Churchill mural

By Maksim Apelfeld on February 10, 2014

This week’s Gem comes to you courtesy of local artist Shaun McInnis known for his wonderful outdoor murals found all around Ottawa. This particular mural is located on a retaining wall at the corner of Richmond Road and Churchill Avenue. The mural depicts former British Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill and acts as a gateway into Westboro Village.

Churchill Avenue, formally known as Main Street, was renamed in honour of the British Prime Minister following WWII. The mural came later, in the late nineties, and is now a familiar feature of the neighbourhood.
