Happening along 10 city blocks, the 2017 Glowfair Festival is expected to draw up to 50,000 visitors in one weekend, June 16–17.
Some of the hottest emerging talent in Canada will light up the fourth annual Glowfair Festival on Bank Street. Halifax-based electronic pop band Neon Dreams and singer-songwriter Alyssa Reid are two of the most notable acts headlining Glowfair’s main stage at Bank and Laurier.
On stage and on the street, programming includes a night market, DJs, visual artists, moonlight yoga sessions, and the festival’s signature silent disco – a late-night dance floor where partygoers tune into DJs using Bluetooth headsets. In recent years, thousands have filled Bank Street dancing until 2am.
10 blocks of Bank Street will be closed to traffic, from Slater to James streets. Just about every block has a theme, such as the “Glow Forest” installation from Gilmour to James and the “Energy Zone” from Gloucester to Nepean.
Bring some cash for street food and shopping – but otherwise there is no cost for admission. Glowfair is free to to the public.
