Gig Pick: Amanda Rheaume at the NAC—02.16.19

By Asim B. on February 13, 2019

Amanda Rheaume has a powerful and courageous singing voice that accompanies many of her catchy songs. She has become closely associated with the Canadian Roots-pop scene. She’s the winner of the 2014 Canadian Folk Music Award for Aboriginal Songwriter of the Year and has performed with many great musical talents over the years. She’s extensively toured across Canada, US, Europe, UK, and Central America.

When not singing, the Ottawa native fills her time through her work with the Babes4Breasts concerts and recording projects, Ottawa’s Bluebird North songwriter showcases, performing for the troops in Afghanistan, and raising money for families of military personnel. She sold 6,500 copies of her Christmas EP in Ottawa alone to help raise money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Ottawa.

Amanda Rheaume is performing at the National Arts Centre’s Fourth Stage on Saturday February 16 at 8:30pm. Tickets are sold out.
