A five-piece band joined Claude Munson as the Ottawa singer-songwriter launched his new Boxing Day EP in concert at the National Arts Centre Fourth Stage on Thursday night.

The record’s producer, Philippe Charbonneau, joined Munson’s live band on keys. Charbonneau is a multi-instrumentalist and longtime collaborator of Munson’s, and in addition to leading his own projects such as Scattered Clouds, Charbonneau is a regular session player with acts like Jim Bryson, Hilotrons, and more; and has produced records with more great Ottawa acts such as Claude Munson, Bosveld, and Pony Girl.

The concert opened with a surprising set by local crooner Baker, aka Andre Baker, who captivated the room with his voice and songs. Recommended if you like artists such as Future Islands, Leonard Cohen, and electronic music.
