The news of the Ottawa Fringe Festival cancellation still came as a shock, since it was the first major summer festival in Ottawa to be cancelled.
David Currie: Beyond the Pale delves into a family’s emotional struggle as some begin leaving their traditional homeland to seek out the promise of New York City and the American dream.
Colin Noden: “Olive was at capacity the night we went. I’d advise getting your tickets to this touching experience ASAP.”
Jennifer Cavanagh: “These three are comics are undoubtedly talented, with a strong dynamic between them and very funny on their own but not all the bits land as they should”
Livia Belcea: “It’s a well-crafted sci-fi comedy that packs clever jokes, adventure, drama, sex, politics and social commentary all into one fun show.”
David Currie: “Stick or Wizard is a bizarre show, and I’m not even sure it works, but I also don’t think it has to.”
David Currie: “Clara Madrenas is a charming performer, an able singer, and a thought-provoking writer who I’m sure will be a Fringe tour staple for years to come.”
David Currie: “I have no idea why she decided to market this the way she did. It’s not really a Star Trek show. It’s not stand-up. But you know what? She can do whatever the hell she wants because her show is amazing and I admire her for it.”
The solstice is upon us. It is the first weekend of the summer and the city is alive with countless ways to celebrate the official arrival of this beautiful season.
