House Show
by Two Second Push Up

45 min / Site-specific, Comedy, Drama / PG

House Show was quite the experience. When you get to the venue, you do realize it is actually the house of maybe one, maybe two, maybe all of the actors that play the cast of the “roommates.” Patrons are greeted very warmly by a couple of the hosts of this open house and you are all invited in together to see who your future roommates could be – if you want to rent out the spare room.

This performance was essentially six short plays (around four minutes each) happening in rep around the house. You will want to stay to the end and watch every single one. A few were interactive which were nice, I wish all of them were. The other potential renters (patrons) were asking each other, by the end, what we were supposed to do now and checking their watches, so that could possibly tighten up by the end of this show’s run. Something more at the end of the performance could have tied it together a lot better. All in all, an interesting performance and it was nice to move around and talk to the actors and other patrons as a part of an immersive performance.

Note: This venue is home to some pets as well. No cats or dogs were around during the performance, but if you have highly sensitive allergies you might appreciate this heads up!

House Show by Two Second Push Up is playing at 328 Besserer Street until Sunday June 18, 2017. Tickets cost $12 online and in advance. Visit ottawafringe.com for the show schedule and box office info.
