Finally, a new shoe store that (hopefully) doesn’t suck

The people behind ByWard Market fashion innovators Schad (and SchadBlü) are bringing a new shoe store to Ottawa later this summer. Wolf & Zed is scheduled to open on Sussex the weekend of Aug 8-9.

Having spent a good part of the last 24 hours debating if I should keep the olive green Tory Burch flats I’d just purchased on sale at Holt Renfrew – and subjecting my colleagues to more flip-flopping than I care to admit – I’m particularly excited about this news. (I finally decided to return them, by the way. What I need is sandals, not another pair of $200 flats. That said, if you need some shoes, Holt is having its 60% off sale).

Wolf & Zed plans to carry a few well known lines, including ‘See’ by Chloe, Stuart Weitzman, Cole Haan, Frye, Camper, Swedish Hasbeens, Badgley Mishka, Blackstone, Ash, Kenneth Cole NY, Moon Boots, Bedsto, Cydwoq, UGG, House of Harlow, Rosegold, Modern Vintage, Shelleys of London, Neosens, Mis Mooz, Donald J. Pliner, Timberland, John Varvatos, Area Forte, Mia, Steve Madden and Pajar.

It’s about time Ottawa gets a shoe store that doesn’t suck.  Maybe we can get them to add Bloch, Ann Tuil and Chie Mihara.
