Wellness Workshop: Using a Sketchbook for Self CareTap into your creative element and join registered clinical Social Worker and Therapist Zara Canteenwalla, MSW, RSW, CCC and Community-Engaged Artist and arts-based facilitator Brenda Dunn for this creative outlet workshop focused on learning artistic strategies for wellness, self care and mental health.
This three hour session focuses on using a sketchbook as a tool for mindfulness and grounding exercises; drawing as a means of reflection and observation, and tapping into our creativity to improve motivation and self esteem. All techniques and exercises are grounded in evidence based psychotherapy approaches and have demonstrated significant success in assisting individuals with their own self care maintenance.
We’ll be taking you through a set of drawing exercises using different materials and simple skills. All the materials you need are included in the workshop fee and you will be guided through different drawing techniques, while learning about how to implement them effectively into your own self care regime. These sessions are conducted in small groups for maximum attention, and you will leave with a new roster of resources to supplement your wellness routine and self care toolkit.
No previous drawing experience is needed. All materials included. Free Parking available on site.
