Language Arts (Nova Scotia art pop)
Language Arts ranges from beckoning choruses with bright hooks to meandering, lyrical sagas. Insights poke out with subtle nuances, sparkling and inquisitive.
Cedric Noel (Montreal melodic pop)
Cedric Noel is a songwriter, bassist and collaborator currently based in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Since 2010 Noel has released a number of full length albums, EPs and collaborative works which have ranged from melodic pop to ambient to improvisational soundscapes.
mal/aimé (Ottawa chamber/drone)
An off-shoot of Ottawa art-rock collective Pony Girl, mal/aimé take the band’s experimental chamber sound and run with it, combining clarinet, guitars, and percussion with synths, drones and electronics. Yolande Laroche’s soaring clarinet and voice weave in and out of guitarist Julien Dussault’s demented drone patterns, on top of a bed of synthesizers and electronic percussion created by Jeff Kingsbury.
Hard Science (video)
Hard Science (aka. Arturo Brisindi) is a multi-disciplinary artist that focuses on video experimentation reminiscent of an 80s dream. Processing live footage and video clips with a small arsenal of analog machines, Hard Science invites you to experience what it’s like to be trapped inside the circuits of a CRT TV.
