We are having a lovely Afternoon Tea at Saint Brigid’s Centre on June 16th to celebrate Bloomsday and we would like for you to join us.
Never heard of Boomsday?
Bloomsday is like a soap opera, it deals with sex, drink, adultery, life, and death. Join Leopold Bloom as he experiences all of life in one day!
If you’ve never heard of James Joyce or don’t know much about Irish literature, Bloomsday at Saint Brigid’s is a fun crash-course in both. You’ll get to find out about Ireland’s most famous banned book and its author through performances, readings and song. Plus, you will be able to legitimately say you learned something.
Come on down to Saint Brigid’s and celebrate Joyce’s Bloomsday on a fun Sunday afternoon. Wear your best Edwardian dress up. A hat, long dress, high collard blouse or an old evening gown for ladies. For the gents three-piece suit or and bow tie, gloves, bowler or straw hat.
Prizes for the best dressed Lady and Gent.
