Broken Social Scene, Sam Roberts Band, Wintersleep headline the 2018 Dragon Boat Festival concert lineup

Matt Mays, Fast Romantics, Amos The Transparent, Hollerado, Gianna Lauren, Craig Cardiff and more artists are playing free concerts at Mooney’s Bay Park.

Today, organizers of the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival revealed an impressive lineup booked to play free open-air concerts for the festival’s 25th anniversary edition. These concerts take place at the Hillside Amphitheatre at Mooney’s Bay Park from June 21–24, 2018.

“This year we have some of the most incredible headliners and emerging artists this country has to offer,” said Antony Cooper, Artistic Director of the Dragon Boat Festival, “we are thrilled to celebrate our 25th anniversary by sharing this fantastic lineup.”

And what a lineup it is. Among the headliners, Wintersleep and Broken Social Scene are big gets for virtually any summer music festival booking Canadian talent. You’d expect to see massive crowds—paying admission—to see the bands at, say, Bluesfest or CityFolk… On the other hand, Dragon Boat is presenting some of Ottawa and Canada’s top indie bands in a free series.
