Dominion City Brewing gets off to a great (kick) start

By Chris Cline on March 23, 2014

Long left out in the cold of the current craft beer revolution (for the most part, anyway), Ottawa’s east end is finally getting its own craft brewery. Dominion City Brewing Company is set to open this year on Canotek Road, and as an east-ender and beer lover, I’m really excited to try their brews.

If you’re as excited as I am, you can help the brewery get on its feet during their current Kickstarter campaign. The folks behind the company are trying to raise $15,000 to bring their vision to life. And what a vision it is – the brewery’s retail store will feature a bar built from lumber dredged out of the Ottawa River in a bid to connect with the city’s mill town roots.

The campaign is currently going strong and it looks likely that they’ll reach their goal before things wrap up. But they still need your help, so visit the page and kick in some cash if you can. And while you’re doing that, check out this interview I did with founder Josh McJannett for Apt613 Live.
